The Chocolate Festival, Brighton
Only the most hedonistic of organisers would throw an all-out homage to chocolate smack-bang in the middle of Lent. So you can rest assured that this event will be a devilishly luxurious one. The street opposite Brighton's Royal Pavilion will be lined with artisan chocolatiers, peddling their wares at stalls where you can stock up on Easter gifts and stuff your face with free samples. To hell with abstinence. Available at New Road, Saturday & Sunday
Cabaret Duchamp, London
The spirit of arch provocateur Marcel Duchamp is summoned up for an evening of Dada and daring thought, hosted by BBC arts editor Will Gompertz. Stewart Lee is a fine choice as the closest that UK stand-up gets to the surreality and impertinence of Duchamp, while Jake and Dinos Chapman will bring the artistry of their trademark humour and playfulness to the evening. A performance by artist Hayley Newman promises Duchampian disorientation, while Turner prize-winner Martin Creed brings the spirit of the readymade to the event.
Available at Barbican, EC2, Wednesday
The Contemporary Body, London
This symposium covers issues of body image, gender and sexuality in the arts through a day-long series of events that complement the gallery's current Juergen Teller show. Observer journalist Eva Wiseman introduces the event, which includes contributions from academics, psychologists, artists and writers. Sarah Niblock, Mark Simpson and Dr Phillippa Diedrichs discuss the media's influence on body image, and Katrin Eismann and Lisa Blackman hold what should be an interesting session on the use of Photoshop in relation to body perception. Plastic surgeon Fazel Fatah gives his side of the story, with a screening of Frederick Wiseman's Model and a presentation from artist Eddie Peake (work pictured) rounding off the evening.
Available at ICA, SW1, Saturday
