Bagan Temple and Pagoda

Bagan temple and pagoda are the most existing temples and pagodas in Myanmar(Burma). Bagan temple and pagoda is one of interesting place in Myanmar with  thousans of  Pagodas and Temples. There are many kind of temples and pagodas which are may visit such as Ananda Temple(also known as Ananda Pahto), Bu Pagoda (Bu Paya), Dhammayangyi Temple, Gawdawpalin Temple, Htilominlo Temple, Mount Popa, Shwegugyi Temple, Shwezigon Pagoda, Sulamani Temple, Thatbyinnyu Temple, and more.

Bagan , formerly Pagan, is an ancient city in the Mandalay Division of Burma( Myanmar), it was the capital of several ancient kingdoms in Burma. Bagan is located in the dry central plains of the country, on the eastern bank of the Ayeyarwady River, 90 miles (140 km) southwest of Mandalay.
Bagan (Pagan) is known to have more than 4,000 temples and often visited at sunrise  and sunset . We can visit Bagan all year round as there is no actual rainy Season like in the lower parts of Myanmar, therefore we called it Summer Season.

Beside Bagan as the capital of the first Myanmar Empire, Bagan is home to many archaeological sites that was officially opened in 1998. Tourists who want to explore the history of Old Bagan can visit the museum to see objects used during the Bagan period. The first floor houses the showrooms for visual arts and coiffures of court ladies, while the second floor has display rooms with religious themes.

The temples, pagodas and monuments will be found throughout the area and visitors can embark on a spiritual and historical journey by going from one temple to another as all the buildings are beautifully and uniquely designed.

Among them all, the most interesting place is Mount Popa. It was considered as one of the most popular pilgrimage spots in Myanmar. Mount Popa is an extinct volcano where the Popa Taungkalat Monastery is found. The Monastery built on top of a Mountain, 1518 mt.( 4981feet ) which you can visit, you only have to climb 777 steps to the top. Popa used to be called the ‘Mountain of Spirits,’ and is still recognized as a dwelling of 'nats,' or spirits of ancient ancestors. The highest temple in Bagan is Thatbyinnyu Temple.

One thing to do that can not be missed is observe the beautiful Sunset over Bagan while enjoying a cold drink. You may  have a idyllic Sunset Boat trip on the Ayeyarwaddy River to observe it. Also you may arrange your sightseeing Tour by Car, Horse Cart or on your own on a Bicycle. Beside that, Bagan (Pagan) is also a great place for beautiful local Art, such as Lacquer ware, Bamboo works and beautiful local made Cloth.
